Lasting Peace
Series: The Long Road Home
Peace, defined as the absence of hostilities, is a promise that was demonstrated on the cross when Jesus ended the division between Jew and Gentile. His sacrifice as the Lamb of God fulfilled all the types, rituals and sacrifices entrusted to the Jewish nation that pointed towards this culminating event. In Ephesians chapter 2, the apostle Paul teaches that this event is when God established the peace that you, as a believer, can claim and experience even today. The historical record of Jew and Gentile now becoming one united people through Christ gives you the assurance that the hostilities between you and God are forever removed. Lasting peace, as a direct result, allows you to live confidently amidst the chaos of sin in a broken world.
